June Update

It’s been a minute since our last update, but that doesn’t mean the team hasn’t been hard at work, putting in great training and racing performances! We hope you’re all staying warm and making the most of this fast-weather season.

Marathon season is officially here for the runners, and there’s plenty for the triathletes to get excited about too, especially with the recent announcement of the Ironman 2026 calendar and the T100 Gold Coast race. Some fantastic racing opportunities are on the horizon.

Highlights from May and June:

  • Kate ran her 2nd fastest 10K ever at Runaway Noosa.

  • Daniel landed a podium finish at Paladin Brisbane.

  • Mon raced the CBR 10K, sneaking in a hit-out before the cold snap down south.

  • Sandy took part in the Wings for Life World Run, followed it up with the scenic Great Ocean Road Marathon, and then backed up again for the always-tough Yandina Five-O.

  • Lighthouse Running Festival was huge:

    • Big PB and race win for Kate.

    • Massive PB for Rachael, improving her half marathon pace by 22 seconds per kilometre.

    • Nate successfully completed another marathon, continuing to build on his endurance and consistency as he works towards the Blackall 100 later this year.

    • Daniel grabbed 2nd in the 15K with a lightning-fast time.

  • Tina ticked off the bucket-list London Marathon on a record-breaking day.

  • Rodney has made a big leap, improving from 5:47/km over 5K last October down to 4:12/km recently.

Upcoming Races:

  • Wondai Country Running Festival is a big one for the team: Jodie, Sandy, and Kate are all racing.

  • Nate is heading into the Brisbane Trail Ultra.

  • Nikki will be racing the Gold Coast Half Marathon.

  • The Bargara Sprint Triathlon is coming up, an awesome local event and a great chance to support the tri club and soak up the good vibes.

  • Lisa, Rachael, and Daniel are lining up for Hyrox Sydney, Paladin Gold Coast, and other hybrid events.

Other News:

  • Our brand-new Junior Running Academy is up and running. If you know a keen young runner, we’d love to welcome them on Monday afternoons for training, games, and running development.

  • We’re more than halfway through winter, which means swim squad is nearly back. Stay tuned for updates on when and where we’ll be diving in. Warmer water and a full-size pool await.

Stay warm, stay healthy, and we look forward to seeing you soon at training, races, or squad!
