Early 2026 update - It's been a minute

We've had a big break from updating everyone on what's been happenign with team WE. An extended end-of-year rest, a rare gap in the racing calendar, and some well earned respite for many of the crew has meant we're ready to go as we move in to the start of the racing season for 2026.

A quick recap of the back end of 2025:

At Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival, Kate got her Boston Marathon Qualifier and ran a very impressive 3:27:38; Leigh ran a Marathon PB; Dave ran a Half Marathon PB; and Tina ran a tune-up for New York Marathon. A great day all round.

Not to be outdone, Mon represented WE at Melbourne Marathon and to run another PB.

WE athletes had some amazing performances at Blackall 100 with Sandy now completing 400KMs on the Blackall courses and Michael having an absolute blinder of a race knocking over 1hour and 40 minutes off of his previous race time,

In November, Tina ran the New York City marathon in the WMM Age Group World Championship. This was her second WMM of the year and shows us all what can be achieved with commitment and consistency in your training.

Speaking of consistency, Jodie, one of our original WE athletes, has had solid performances in a number of events following her national cycling representation last year including Adventure races, Brisbane 2 Gold Coast and a number of local races.

Sandy has just returned from Tarawerra Ultra Marathon where she collected some UTMB stones and got to run on one of the most picturesque looking trail courses going around. I'm sure many of us are envious.

Our local triathletes (and runners who like to cross-train) have been making the most of the amazing new pool facilities in Bundaberg and preparing for T100 Gold Coast, Hell of the West, Western Sydney 70.3, Cairns Ironman and a number of other events in the near future.

So much has been going on since the last update that we're sure to have missed some of the amazing achievements and accolades of our amazing team but comment below if you think of anything that needs to be added to this or future updates.

Stay tuned and we hope to see you out training or on the race course soon.
